Mental health is an essential aspect of our overall well-being, yet it remains largely stigmatized. While both men and women face mental health challenges, men are less likely to seek help or discuss their experiences openly. Men are programmed by society to be strong and conceal their emotions. Hence, most of them suffer in silence. This negatively affects their quality of life, relationships, and career. However, practicing self-care and incorporating exercise programs like resistance training and REHIT can improve their mental health overall. Today, we explore the importance of men's mental health and the benefits of self-care and exercise.

The Importance of Men's Mental Health

Our society discourages men from talking about their feelings and tends to associate masculinity with toughness and invincibility. That's why mental health issues in men often go undiagnosed and untreated. According to the American Psychological Association, men are more likely to engage in risky behavior and substance abuse due to the stigma associated with mental health. It's crucial for men to practice self-care and seek help when necessary. Opening up and seeking help will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.

The Importance of Self-Care

Self-care is the practice of taking care of oneself to maintain emotional, physical, and mental health. It's essential to practice daily self-care to maintain your mental and physical health, including getting enough sleep, enough sleep, eating well, managing stress, and

staying hydrated. Men shouldn't feel guilty about taking time off or indulging in things they enjoy

to maintain their mental health. Go outdoors.

Lift heavy things. Whatever it is that helps you

manage stress and keep excessive weight at bay.

How Exercise Can Improve Mental Health

Studies show that exercise has various mental benefits and is associated with decreased stress and anxiety. Physical activity stimulates the brain to release endorphins, which are natural mood boosters. Incorporating exercise into a daily routine can provide a sense of stability, reduce stress, and improve overall mood. Men should consider incorporating resistance training and REHIT into their wellness routines.

Resistance Training and Mental Health

Resistance training involves lifting heavy to strengthen muscles. This type of exercise not only helps improve muscle strength, tone, and stamina but also has positive effects on mental health. As I mentioned, resistance training helps the brain release endorphins, which induces a feeling of euphoria and reduces stress levels. Additionally, resistance training has been shown to improve sleep patterns, which positively impact a person's mental health. Poor sleep and nutrition can wreak havoc on our overall health and well-being.

REHIT Exercise and Mental Health

REHIT (Reduced Exertion High-Intensity Training) is a type of physical activity that involves short, intense bursts of exercise that require less energy than traditional high-intensity workouts. REHIT exercise can replace traditional cardio and resistance training programs because it requires less time. Studies have shown that REHIT exercise can boost cognitive function and improve mental health. It also has a positive impact on the heart, lungs, and overall health.

Men's mental health is essential, and it's crucial to practice self-care to maintain it. Society's expectations are often unrealistic, and it's okay to admit to feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. Mental health challenges are not a sign of weakness, and there is nothing wrong with seeking help. Exercise programs like resistance training and REHIT have been shown to have beneficial effects on mental health and overall well-being. Incorporating simple, daily habits like exercise and self-care can lead to a happier and healthier life.

At iQ Fitness Studio, resistance training sessions take about 20 minutes to complete, and the user typically does 15 minutes or less of work. In those 15 minutes, we are 94% more efficient than lifting metal weights. REHIT sessions take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to complete. Build muscle, burn fat, and improve cardiovascular and respiratory health while supporting your mental health.
